Liza Byrnes (Vice President)

Liza Byrnes - Owner/Principal, LCB Accounting Solutions

1.What is your work / passion / side-hustle?

I’m an Accountant by trade and have my own small accounting business. In addition to this, I’m a lecturer at Charles Sturt University in the School of Business. Training and education are a passion of mine so being able to combine my practical experience with teaching is a great way to help others learn and develop.

2. Beyond the 9 to 5 – what do you live for?

My family and my animals. We have some acreage so we have a few horses, dogs and cats to keep us busy. I love being able to go for a ride whenever I want to and having lots of open space around is important to me.

3. How did you land in Wagga - Are you Wagga born and bred, grew up here moved away and returned, moved here later in life and stayed because you love it, or something else that landed you here?

I’m originally from Lake Cargelligo and came to Wagga to go to uni. I met my husband in my first year and other than a short stint with a firm on the south coast, I have been here ever since. We’ve raised our daughter in Wagga and both have family and careers here so we’re not looking to go anywhere anytime soon.

4. Woman (famous or not) you are most inspired by and why?

My daughter first and foremost. She’s independent, smart, empathetic and knows her voice. There are also women I engage with daily, as part of the committee, through my business, and socially, who inspire me with their drive, passion, and integrity. Women, when they have a cause close to their heart can make great things happen, and being around them makes me want to do better and be better.
