2020 Mentor Profile: Tina Bingham
Tina Bingham
Self taught, National award winning, wedding and portrait photographer.
Self taught wedding and portrait photographer Tina Bingham has been in the industry for over ten years and in that time has established her business Peppermint Studios to become one of Wagga Wagga’s leading professional photography businesses. Customising in photographing weddings in the Riverina and further afield.
Tina has won various National Awards for her work including a much sought after ‘Gold Award’ at the Australian Institute of Photography Print awards in 2012. Due to her success Tina has been asked to tell her story to fellow photographers, conducting workshops and seminars around the country including her 2017 ‘Lets Do This’ workshop in New Zealand.
Tina believes the secret to her success is her strong customer service background. Before becoming a photographer she was in marketing and customer service based rolls. Her first ever job was in radio, later working with 2wg / Star FM Wagga, with stints at Sureway Employment and later in a challenging role working with Former Member of Parliament Kay Hull.
Tina is passionate about what she does and believes the skies the limit. In 2017 she photographed two weddings in New York City ’which just came down to good networking and following opportunity when it knocked’.
Full time wedding and portrait photographer as well as mum, wife, and country girl born and bred, Tina loves chasing the natural light, and telling stories with her camera with a fun and outgoing, ‘journalistic’ approach.
On a footnote Tina owes a lot of thanks and gratitude to her Mentor (a renowned Melbourne based senior photographer) who took her on board when she first picked up a camera.
