After the success of our first mental health webinar focusing on mental health at home, the Wagga Wagga Business Chamber and Women in Business Wagga are partnering again to bring the business community an important webinar focusing on Mental Health in the workplace. We will be joined by a panel of experts from diverse industries to talk strategies on dealing with staff mental health needs and what types of funding and programs business owners and employers can access.

Fiona Piltz, Head of HR - Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga
Currently the Head of HR at the Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga, Fiona has over 15 years experience in Human Resources. A qualified and professional human resource practitioner with knowledge and experience in both the public and private sectors with a significant skill set in developing and maintaining both strategic and operational HR requirements.
Fiona believes that change management, conflict resolution, workplace investigations and dispute resolution as well as coaching and mentoring managers/supervisors in how they can best approach, manage and lead their teams are critical skills and experience to have in any organisation. Ensuring you involve people at all layers of an organisation in leading and valuing employees and the contribution that they make to the organisation are just a few of key areas that she is passionate about.
Alicia Smith, Assistant State Inspector - SafeworkNSW
Based in Wagga Wagga, Alicia was recently appointed as an Assistant State Inspector with SafeWork NSW. Alicia has completed studies in Health and Occupational Health and Safety and has a keen interest in injury management, workers compensation, psychosocial risks in the workplace, hazardous manual tasks and agriculture. In 2013, Alicia’s brother was killed in a farming quad bike accident, leading to her desire to want to move back to regional NSW and pursue a more proactive role in the WHS space to help regional communities with safety, from both a physical and psychological health aspect. In her current work, Alicia engages with a range of employers across NSW through both proactive interventions as well as in response to workplace incidents and injuries.
James Smith, Business Development Manager - The Personnel Group
James Smith is a mental health advocate and champion of diversity in workplaces. He works for The Personnel Group across NSW, ACT and Victoria to support businesses to support their people. He is a Regional Advisory Councillor for Business NSW and TAFE NSW, a father of 3 and a husband of 1
